Road to Living

High blood pressure.  Type 2 Diabetes.  Stroke.  Cancer.  Gall bladder disease.  High cholesterol.  Venous insufficiency.  Morbidly obese.  These are all words that I heard at an appointment I went to in April of last year.  I made the appointment because of a red area on my leg that would not go away.  Try as I might, the area just kept getting worse and worse.  I just knew that I had an infection of some sort.  Take a pill and it would go away.  Today, as I am writing this, it is still there.  Venous insufficiency.  From Morbid obesity.  Come on, doc, just give me the pill to fix this thing and I will come back in oh…a year or so.  I will take care of my weight, try to go on one of those diets or something…just fix my leg.  When the blood tests came back and sure enough, pre-diabetes…
