#CLTBRCHALLENGE15 Book Review: Blockade Billy by Stephen King 4/5 Stars

Overview: The story of a rookie catcher in the early days of baseball, by the coach who seen it all.

Opinion: I love baseball (Go Royals!), so picking this novella up was an easy decision. It is great, I could see Stephen sitting down in a nursing home listening to the old coach as he relays what happened to one of the greatest catchers in the league. I don’t want to give to much away as it was so short, but it also seemed a bit lackluster. The book sets you up for something dark and sinister to be wrong with Billy, the famed catcher, but in the end it is so far from what we have seen from Stephen King. I loved the book for what it is but it loses a star as it didn’t meet all my expectations.

Recommend: Yes.
