I know I’m late to the party on this on this one but better late then never. I tried getting into it back when it was only two seasons old, but never could quite get into it. Being a slow month in February, I gave it another shot. I’m really into it now but still have some issues.
Remember I’m still early into season 2 but will be in 3 before too long.
First off, Lori Grimes is irritating. I’m not sure which I hate more, her or Andrea. Lori not only gave up on her husband after four months, but jumped straight back into bed with her husband with no reservations as to her relationship with Shane. Then I understand her want and need to protect Rick, but dang she acts like he is a kid that shouldn’t be let out of her sight. I get it, he was gone for four months and she thought he was dead. Loosen the reigns a bit so he can protect your cheating, lying behind.
Andrea is a spoiled rip. Dale might not have been her father, but he was still trying to protect her. She just wanted to do things her way and break free of his “oppression.” Now that I think about it, I do think I hate her more than Lori, and go figure she survived the attack on the farm.
Shane, the best friend turned psycho. As the best friend, he never should have diddled the wife. Then of course his true colors begin to show through by the more people he kills and loses the leadership of the group.
Which how did that happen? One minute Shane seems to be in charge, then Rick shows up and becomes leader. Rick screws up a lot in the early days, but still let’s follow the guy who just woke up from a coma. Obviously Rick is the better choice, but still there was not even a power struggle. No shock as to why Shane went nuts.
Carl is also a thorn in my side as he contributed to Dale’s death. How many brain cells do you need to know toying with a zombie, walker, is not a good idea? Seriously the kid wants more responsibility but then decides to steal a gun and play with a walker stuck in the mud.
Carol is irritating, but giving her a pass since she lost her daughter. Maggie, Glenn and the little sister seem OK but not big characters.
I think Dale could have lived longer, being the only morel compass and all. Didn’t care for Hershel in the beginning, nutcase, but learning to like him. Michonne is killer, just awesome. Prison seems like a brilliant idea for the group to live hope it lasts.
