The Sixties

Poems

They came with dreams to change the world –
to ensure civil rights and terminate
the prominence of a fair skinned
over a darker one – and change they did,
though not as much as they hoped in those dreams!

They grew up with the horrors of
the atom bombs ingrained in their genes,
Pearl Harbor and the Auschwitz too,
so they urged the cannonballs to be banned
and hoped, the white dove would sleep in the sand!

At least they had their dreams for us,
what do we have for our daughters and sons,
except blind greed and selfishness for those
already here and those yet to be born?

I'm an author with an associate's in psychology. Interested in a lot of different things, and love controversy. The more controversial the better, but that's not all I'm interested in. Can be a bit confusing at times, but that's normal!
