Death, A Beginning

Poems

Death is the end but is it not
a beginning too? Never mind,
in afterlife you trust or not,
for it is a beginning, either way,
of grand rewards and punishments for some
and of nothingness for others,
while of a probable union, no less grand, for me!

But no matter what, will you ever cease to be
a human, even in your death?
No more alive perhaps but human still!
Does a dog cease to be a dog
when it has breathed its last and is lying dead?

That is all I have ever hoped to be in life
and shall be too, if there is a life after death!

I'm an author with an associate's in psychology. Interested in a lot of different things, and love controversy. The more controversial the better, but that's not all I'm interested in. Can be a bit confusing at times, but that's normal!
