Where are you from? Kansas
How many books have you written? 34
Which is your favorite? The bloodmate books are my favorite right now
Do you recall how your interest in writing originated? I think I was about 13. Use to make up things all the time and started hand writing things down here and there. Soon after just sort hit me that I really like it, so took typing as soon as I could and kept right on writing.
What are your current projects? I have many projects going. Currently I have some self-publishing things going on, a partnership started with the name TJ Black, and then things for my publisher as well. Guess you can say, about three titles are being worked on.
What inspired you to write your first book? I read a werewolf story that just grabbed me. Ended up reading it several times in fact before sitting down and trying to write up my own. And I also wanted it to be nothing like any wolf stories I’ve read before. That book ended up being my first Shifter story, and also got me into my very first publisher.
What book are you reading now? At the moment, none, but have three that are waiting for me. Only thing is, once I pick it up nothing else is going to get done.
Do you ever experience writer’s block? Yes I do.
What is one random thing about you? I knit
What does your writing process look like? Sometimes that depends on the day. I’ve been a stay home mom for 14 years, so there are some days I might not get on the computer until afternoon, depending on what has to be done at home.
How important are names to you in your books? For me, the right name is important for the right person in the story. And I like different names also, so always looking for them. If I hear one, I always write it down for later on.
Do you read your reviews? Do you respond to them, good or bad? I do read them, but never have respond to them.
Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing? I can’t do mysteries. Not sure why, just unable to write one.
What is your favorite book and why? I don’t think I have one really
If you could have been the original author of any book, what would it have been and why?
Do you have any advice for other writers? Don’t give up. You want it, then go and don’t let anyone tell you you can’t do it.
What do you like to do when you’re not writing? Just relaxing if I can. I’m either on the go with my boys and their sports, playing catch up in house, or writing. So if I get a chance to nothing I take it.
