#BookReview: Hot Mess by Madeline A. Rosenberg 2/5 Stars

Overview: Anna is your regular popular girl that everyone either loves, hates, or loves to hate. Her boyfriend is a recovering drug addict. We start in the present but bounce back to the past and back again, each time adding more details of how Anna’s decisions affect her friends and family.

Opinion: Though the story seems to take place in the present, there are references that make me think it happens in the eighties; but then there is so much texting that maybe not. Some of the flashbacks meld and telling the difference is difficult. Anna and Trevor seem like the perfect couple, but as we are inside their heads it’s as if they are still in high school instead of college and everyone is a spoiled rich kid. It may just not be my usual cup of tea, but personally I don’t care for it.

Recommend: Not really
