#UpcomingTitle: Home Sweet Home by Elizabeth Cash

🏚Home Sweet Home🏚
***COMING 9.20.2017***

Come, dive into the minds of 3 very different people: The Victim, The Innocent Bystander, and The Monster behind the Mask. Do you have what it takes to see what is behind door number one?

TBR: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/35624231-home-sweet-home

Monsters don’t hide under your bed or in your closet.
They don’t jump out of the darkness and scare you.
They don’t wear masks and tattered clothing.
They don’t wait for you to fall asleep to give you nightmares.
They stand in front of you. Smiling. Holding your hand.
My monster has dictated my entire life. He lurks in the scarier parts of my mind because I refuse to acknowledge who he is. I haven’t seen him in seven years, but just the mere thought of him brings me to my knees in fear. I used to think he loved me at one point, but that thought is never enough to salvage what he has left of me. An ounce of love from him is worth a pound of hate from the Devil himself. Wanna know what I used to call this monster?

Dad.

Touchdown Interruption #TDI

Touchdown Interruption is about a sheltered girl who wants to break out and do her own thing. When Jezebel breaks her arm and the arm of her enemy, her father decides to let her spend the rest of summer and fall home alone, with the enemy sleeping down the hall. Can the two live together and survive? Sneak Peak:

That night I tried to sleep but could not stop thinking about Xavier and what my friend thought I should do. I got up, and went to the kitchen for a cup of warm apple cider and chocolate covered raisins. Maybe they will help me sleep. I hadn’t been in there five minutes when I started to hear Xavier coming down the hall. When he entered the kitchen in his pajama bottoms, and bed head I couldn’t help but chuckle. He looked so sexy standing there rubbing the sleep from his eyes. “What are you doing up?”

“Fox and Scully kept whimpering at the window. I don’t know if they saw something or what, but they wouldn’t stop crying.”

“That sucks. Are they still in there? Would you like a cup of cider?”

“Sure. Yea they wouldn’t come out here, I wonder if they saw another dog or a cat. What are you doing up?” He asked taking the cup I offered him.

“I just couldn’t sleep. My brain seems to be in over drive tonight.”

CRASH! “What was that?” Xavier asked setting his cup on the counter and rushing towards the master bedroom where we heard the sound of breaking glass come from.

As we ran down the hallway, Fox and Scully joined us growling and barking trying to get ahead of us and see what happened. Once in my dad’s room we found the patio door had been smashed in with a brick thrown through it. “Well this is nice. My dad is going to go crazy. Who the hell would throw a brick through a glass door?”

“I don’t know, surprisingly there isn’t a note. Have you made anyone mad recently?” He asked as he carefully examined the brick.

“Not really…Miranda, but that’s been awhile if she wanted revenge she would of done it by now and not with a brick through the window. She would go straight for me or you since I humiliated her in front of you.”

“Oh that sounds like fun. You sure it wasn’t her?”

“Positive, her ways are different and more personal. I would say pissed off fan, but usually they don’t attack the house personally.” The dogs perked up their ears and headed towards the living room.

Bad Blogger

I am a bad blogger. I haven’t made a post since last year! And even then the last post was me ranting about the amount of books I have piled in my To Be Read list. But my lack of blog posts doesn’t mean I haven’t been busy.

busy

I am currently working on eight different books, plus at least five more that I just started mapping out in the past week or so. My problem being I have all these ideas, but no inspiration or drive to actually piece them together into anything coherent.

So while it has never stuck with me in the past, I have taken to writing everything down in my pretty notebook and folding the pages down in a method I learned from my dad.

busy

Been working on a project for my dad, and slaving away in my classes. I’ve also been working with my family to get ready for moving day. Soon we will be packing up our whole house to move… a few roads over. If it wasn’t for my short trips to Facebook, I wouldn’t even know what day it is. So I’m going to try and pop on here more often, but if I am absent for long periods of time, you know I am neck deep into something. Happy (late) New Year!

Book Goals for 2016

As of midnight on December 31st, I am no longer buying (or grabbing freebies) books for at least one year. I started this year off with a goal to read at least 65 books on my TBR list. I accomplished that and more, but also went from 2000ish to over 4000 books on that list. So my goal to put a small dent in it failed.

Next year my reading goal will be at least 100 and no more new purchases. Which is going to be hard because I have a small addiction to all the free ones I can find. Just before writing this, I thought I would go to Amazon and stock up on the freebies, and probably will again before the end of the year, and probably got close to 50 if not more. All free because I am a poor writer who can’t even afford a $0.99 book. Mind you this list does not include the hundred or so paper/hardback books that I own sitting on my shelves that I have also yet to read.

This means that I’m going to miss out on a lot of great books in the coming year. 😦 But I need to do something that is actually going to help shrink my never ending TBR list.

So if anyone knows of any good freebies that I should look into, speak now or forever hold your piece.

I AM FORBIDDING MYSELF FROM BUYING MORE BOOKS AFTER DEC. 31ST FOR A WHOLE YEAR!

I continued #Musical Monday Reviews and will continue them into May. Sanctuary Edits is still open for new clients. Sadly I think my guest post author has backed out, but if anyone else would like to step up send me a message and we can talk. Any topic you would like, I don’t mind. Also still taking author interviews!

As you saw there have been some posts from my creative writing class and I’ll continue to post them. I have also posted my poems and there may be more in the future…I’m not sure as I don’t write them that often.

In other news, my Camp NaNoWriMo was somewhat of a failure and kind of not. I wrote 23,892 words out of a goal of 30,000. So I failed to make my goal but came very close to finishing. Can’t wait to see what I can do in July!

I continued #Musical Monday Reviews and will continue them into May. Sanctuary Edits is working with a second author already and still open for new clients. I also announced Guest Posts this month, but have not heard back from the one who contacted me yet. I am opening that spot up to anyone who would be interested, any topic you would like. Classes are going ok but I have just been out of it the last two weeks. I was really sick one day and haven’t caught up yet. Iit’s been a lazy, feel like “blah” last two weeks. I hope it gets better.

Let’s have a good May!
