Touchdown Interruption #TDI

Touchdown Interruption is about a sheltered girl who wants to break out and do her own thing. When Jezebel breaks her arm and the arm of her enemy, her father decides to let her spend the rest of summer and fall home alone, with the enemy sleeping down the hall. Can the two live together and survive? Sneak Peak:

That night I tried to sleep but could not stop thinking about Xavier and what my friend thought I should do. I got up, and went to the kitchen for a cup of warm apple cider and chocolate covered raisins. Maybe they will help me sleep. I hadn’t been in there five minutes when I started to hear Xavier coming down the hall. When he entered the kitchen in his pajama bottoms, and bed head I couldn’t help but chuckle. He looked so sexy standing there rubbing the sleep from his eyes. “What are you doing up?”

“Fox and Scully kept whimpering at the window. I don’t know if they saw something or what, but they wouldn’t stop crying.”

“That sucks. Are they still in there? Would you like a cup of cider?”

“Sure. Yea they wouldn’t come out here, I wonder if they saw another dog or a cat. What are you doing up?” He asked taking the cup I offered him.

“I just couldn’t sleep. My brain seems to be in over drive tonight.”

CRASH! “What was that?” Xavier asked setting his cup on the counter and rushing towards the master bedroom where we heard the sound of breaking glass come from.

As we ran down the hallway, Fox and Scully joined us growling and barking trying to get ahead of us and see what happened. Once in my dad’s room we found the patio door had been smashed in with a brick thrown through it. “Well this is nice. My dad is going to go crazy. Who the hell would throw a brick through a glass door?”

“I don’t know, surprisingly there isn’t a note. Have you made anyone mad recently?” He asked as he carefully examined the brick.

“Not really…Miranda, but that’s been awhile if she wanted revenge she would of done it by now and not with a brick through the window. She would go straight for me or you since I humiliated her in front of you.”

“Oh that sounds like fun. You sure it wasn’t her?”

“Positive, her ways are different and more personal. I would say pissed off fan, but usually they don’t attack the house personally.” The dogs perked up their ears and headed towards the living room.

Touchdown Interruption Chapter 1 Teaser

Chapter 1-The Snap

“Hey Dad, are the guys coming over for a game today?” I asked walking into the kitchen putting my long curly red hair into a loose hanging pony tail.
“Yea they are supposed to be here in an hour or so. Why?” Dad said as he put his cereal bowl in the sink and rinsed it out.
“Just wondering; is there any point in asking if I can finally play this time? Or am I still confined to watching from the sidelines?”
“Only one way to know is ask, Jez.” He said turning around and smiling.
Just then my step-mom came in carrying her yappy Pomeranian, “All she has to do is ask what? The answer is still no if you are trying to get out of going on the road with your father. I didn’t babysit your brothers during football season and I am not babysitting you. Besides it is your last year to spend time with your father until you move out and go to college.”
“Thank you Hayden, but that is not what I was asking. Dad, may I play in the backyard ball game with you guys today?”
“I will never understand you, why can’t you be like other girls and want to go shopping or something? It is not normal for a girl to want to rough house with a bunch of boys.” She set her dog down while she got him food out of the fridge.
“It’s ok that she’s not a girly-girl. You’re 17 now, and I think you could handle yourself out there why not? But unless you plan on playing in your pajamas, I think you should go change.” Dad said as he crossed the kitchen and put his hand on my shoulder.
I gave him a hug, “Thank you Daddy.” Then I ran off to my room to change into cut-off jean shorts and an old tee-shirt. I quickly braided my hair into two pigtails then wrapped them into a bun to keep from being pulled, or stepped on.

“Ok, Jezebel this is your shot to show us what you’re made of. Hike the ball and block Xavier for me. He will go easy on you since you’re a girl…no offense. Mike, find a hole and take it. I will get you the ball.” Dad said addressing my oldest brother Mike.
Mike asked, “How am I supposed to get past the Truck?” referring to our middle sibling who is as big as a small house.
“Well John will probably be too occupied watching what happens to your sister, and Bryce will come straight after me. For the first play this will work, second play will have to be a running one.”

I continued #Musical Monday Reviews and will continue them into May. Sanctuary Edits is still open for new clients. Sadly I think my guest post author has backed out, but if anyone else would like to step up send me a message and we can talk. Any topic you would like, I don’t mind. Also still taking author interviews!

As you saw there have been some posts from my creative writing class and I’ll continue to post them. I have also posted my poems and there may be more in the future…I’m not sure as I don’t write them that often.

In other news, my Camp NaNoWriMo was somewhat of a failure and kind of not. I wrote 23,892 words out of a goal of 30,000. So I failed to make my goal but came very close to finishing. Can’t wait to see what I can do in July!

I continued #Musical Monday Reviews and will continue them into May. Sanctuary Edits is working with a second author already and still open for new clients. I also announced Guest Posts this month, but have not heard back from the one who contacted me yet. I am opening that spot up to anyone who would be interested, any topic you would like. Classes are going ok but I have just been out of it the last two weeks. I was really sick one day and haven’t caught up yet. Iit’s been a lazy, feel like “blah” last two weeks. I hope it gets better.

Let’s have a good May!
